Chapter 127: Chapter 127 Meeting Grandpa Andre RAPHAEL I walked into Enzo’s closet, Dante had gone off somewhere to vent about me not being educated. I stared at his suits and clothes. He has so many. Is it possible for one to wear so many clothes in a lifetime? I stared at his shoe rack and sighed. They looked so expensive. I walked over to where he kept his wristwatches. If I didn’t know any better, I would think he sells them. These were all his. I placed my hand on the glass and tried to imagine what my life would have been like if my mother had taken me away. I would have lived like a prince, that’s for sure.
I thought about some of our memories together, she did treat me like a prince in her own way. Sometimes I try to understand her but it doesn’t take away the pain of being lied to for so many years.
Minutes later,!I’m sitting with Allegra and Dante at the living room. “I can’t believe she couldn’t send you to school.” She let out for the umpteenth time. “I wasn’t really interested in going.” I defended. “You told Dante that money was part of the problem. If she hadn’t taken you away, studying wouldn’t have been so hard for you either!” I swallowed knowing she might be right. “I have no idea how he’s going to act like Enzo at the company.” Dante sighed. Allegra crossed her arms over her chest. “Let’s solve one problem at a time. For now, make him ready to see Grandpa Andre. Tell him everything he needs to know.” Allegra informed him.
I stared at myself in the mirror and smiled. I just can’t stop admiring how handsome I look right now. I’m on a suit, a freaking suit. It feels so good against my skin. I’m dressed to meet my Grandfather. From what I was told, I’m his favorite Grandson, I mean Enzo is. I’m to pretend not to remember anything about my accident and say my memories were still coming to me in any case he ask about any conversation he might have had with me. I crossed my arms and tried to stop feeling nervous. It wasn’t easy living someone else’s life. I hope he’s found soon, and I hope someday, I would finally get my life back on track. Because right now, it doesn’t make sense to me at all.
I tried to hide my admiration as I got down from a car. The mansion in front of me was a lot bigger than Enzo’s. “Come with me.” Dante said and I nodded. “Lorenzo.” Grandpa Andre began when he saw him, he pulled me in for a bear hug. I had seen him in pictures Dante had shown me. For a man his age, I could say he was still so agile. “Good evening, Grandpa.” “I had been so worried. Tell me...what can I possibly do without you? Don’t go scaring me like that again, young man.”
I nodded as he disengaged from me. “I can tell you’ve lost so much weight.” I gulped. Was he noticing anything different? “I...” “Any one who had gone through something like that would surely not be the same for a while...but I’m glad you’re looking bright though.” I nodded. “Thanks for your concern.” “Let’s have dinner.” He announced.
“You must be so hungry, Enzo.”Grandpa Andre pointed out and I realized I was almost done with my meal. Dante eyed me. I chuckled, uneasily. Rich people don’t eat or what? “Yes..I am...I was.” I reluctantly dropped my cutlery. “Now tell me all that happened that day...wasn’t your helicopter checked properly before taking off?” I swallowed. “I don’t really have any memory of that day. To tell you the truth, my memories are only starting to come to me in bits.” He nodded. “I understand. When I saw the news that day, I had thought I would lose you just like I lost your father...I don’t think I would have been able to survive through the grief...I’m glad you’re back.” I smiled and nodded. I saw the maids walk in and started to clear the table. . Trying to be respectful, I stood up and held my flatware and cup as well. I wonder where it would be kept. “What are you doing, Sir Enzo?”Dante asked. And with the glare in his eyes, I could tell that I was not supposed to do this. “I..I was about handing them over to her.” I gestured at one of the maids who came over and politely took the flatware and cup from me. I awkwardly sat back down. “Is it because of the accident? You seem different...timid perhaps...you can barely meet my eyes.” Grandpa Andre said. “It’s because of the accident, sir. He went through a lot.” “I hope you get better as soon as possible. I can’t wait to have your old self back. You’re getting married soon,I...” “Married?!” I asked, shocked to my freaking bones. I was trying to stay as calm as possible.
Grandpa Andre frowned at me.”Don’t tell me you forgot that you’re getting married?Wait, haven’t you gone to see her after the accident? Damn it...The Garcias might think we aren’t serious with the union anymore.”He said in a rush. I was too stunned to speak. “Please don’t get upset, Sir. He was and he is still recovering. He would meet with her before the week runs out.” Dante replied. “You should and we shouldn’t waste anymore time. I will meet with her father...they should be married in two weeks time.” I swallowed the thick lump in my throat. This has gotten a lot more serious. “What do you think ,Enzo? Two weeks is okay, right?” Grandpa Andre asked me. If the real Enzo was found within two weeks, then yes. There was no way I was getting married to someone I don’t even know. People do a lot of things when married...I can’t pretend to be someone’s husband. With the pleading look on Dante’s eyes. I nodded, hesitantly.
