Chapter 128: Chapter 128 Meeting Monalisa “I can’t do this anymore.” I said to Dante as we headed home. “Why?” “Are you seriously asking me that? He is getting married.” “I’m sorry. I totally forgot to tell you about that.” “I can’t do it.” I insisted. “You already agreed to this.” “What if he isn’t found by then? I can’t pretend to be someone’s husband!” “We hope to find him soon, trust me, if there’s anything we could do to find him today, we would but our men are yet to give us good news, we can only play our parts until he’s found.” “How do you expect me to also pretend to love his woman the way he does?” He laughed. I wondered what was so funny. “He doesn’t love her.”
“What?” “Well, I told you before that Enzo is coldhearted, he doesn’t believe in those things and Miss Garcia doesn’t love him as well.” I cocked an eyebrow, confused. “Then why are they getting married?” “Raph, in the kind of world Enzo lives in, everything is about business, everything is practical to him, so he saw no problem with an arranged marriage.” Day after day, I get more confused with how this rich people are. “This marriage is important to him, so if he’s not found before then, you will have to marry her.” I gasped. “Married couple do a lot of stuff, do you even....” “You will have to avoid those stuff.” “Wouldn’t she find that strange? I mean, she would definitely find out that I’m not him.” “They don’t know each other that well so I’m certained she won’t be able to point out the differences. Raph, by all means, you have to avoid getting intimate with her, you should always keep in mind that she’s your brother’s wife...” “Who says I agree to this marriage?” “You really have no choice here. Do you think Mrs Moretti would let Ellie go so easily? If you’re trying to change her mind, you should do it well.” I sighed and looked out through the window. Ahh. But marriage is... Marriage is... Oh God. “Anyway, this a picture of her. “Dante said moving closer to me. “She’s called Monalisa Garcia, she’s a model and the last child of the Garcia, her mother is late, she has a father and two older brothers.” I glanced at her picture briefly. She was pretty but I wasn’t in the mood for any marriage stuff right now so I looked away.
The next three days passed in a blur, I was being treated like a king, I mean I’ve never had so much delicious and expensive meals before but I hate that I had to work out regularly. I’m barely able to feel my arms after each work out sessions. Can Enzo be found already?
“You’re seeming more and more like him each passing day.” Dante said to me as I stood in front of the mirror gushing over my looks. I was clad in a navy suit. I can’t get used to being so handsome. “Let’s go. We shouldn’t keep her waiting.” I nodded, reluctantly. I’m meeting with my soon-to-be wife today. Dread filled my soul. “When we get to the restaurant, I will be sitting at the far end of it, please don’t blow this up, Raph.” I shrugged. “I’ll try.”
And almost an hour later found me seated in a restaurant waiting for her.
My heart was in my throat. How does one have a conversation with someone else’s woman? A woman whom I was about to get married to. This was driving me nuts. “Mr Moretti.” A sweet voice made me lift my head up. I forgot to breathe. People really look different in person. She was so beautiful...like a goddess. Maybe more beautiful than a goddess. Her lips looked so yummy, kissable. Her nose was pointed and cute. Her skin and her whole being were practically glowing. She had a stunningly beautiful aura. But when my eyes met hers, I frowned. They were the coldest I had ever seen. “I must have kept you waiting. You kept me waiting the last time as well.” She said, nonchalantly and sat opposite to me. “Nice to meet you.” I let out. She frowned at me. “Ahh...I mean...it’s nice to see you again after my accident.” Her lips firmed. “From the news I had seen on TV, your helicopter had crashed badly, how the hell did you survive that?” I grimaced. Wasn’t she happy that I survived? “I can’t really remember.” “Really? Not even a little bit. I mean how did you feel when your helicopter started going down? I know it must have started acting up before the crash. Was everyone screaming? How many people were in the helicopter?” She was scaring the hell out of me. “I don’t remember.” “Oh...what a shame...I love horror stories.” Seriously?! I reached out for a glass of water and took a huge gulp. I grabbed the menu. “Let’s have something to eat.” I let out, awkwardly. I stared at the menu. I haven’t tasted most of the dish on it. I ran my eyes through the pictures of the different meals, maybe I could see anything similar to what I’ve been served for the past few days. I finally found one and placed an order. When I lifted up my head, I found her staring at me. “Don’t you want to have anything?”
“I already placed an order.” I nodded and reached out for the glass of water again. Her stares were making me so freaking nervous. We sat there silently as our orders arrived. I focused on my meal. “You know, I’ve had different thoughts about this marriage...positive and negative and I tried to see reasons why it would be favorable to me.” She said. I looked up at her. “And I resolved that it might be good to be free from scandals once and for all. You know, being a woman and a public figure like myself, people tend to say all sort of things when they see me with different men.” What was she saying? She placed her hand above mine. “It’ll be nice to finally say goodbyes to those fuck buddies. People won’t say shit if I’m seen with my husband and you seem...like someone who knows how to fuck...” I choked on my food. I’m getting married to a sex maniac?!
