Chapter 126: Chapter 126 Shutting him up Allegra placed her hand on Dante’s shoulder shutting him up.
“It’s true we need you to pretend to be your brother for the meantime but I was going to nicely ask you for that favor. We have no need to blackmail you. Ellie did me dirty...and I can’t let this go...she has to pay for everything...she must pay for taking my kindness for granted and betraying me...”
With the look on her eyes, I knew simply begging her won’t make her change her mind.
And I can’t blame her.
“Raph...I deserve everything I’m getting...you don’t have to do anything for me.” My mother murmured, tearfully.
I don’t have to do anything for her, I’m not her son, I’m not related to her.
But I just can’t...I just can’t bear to think of what Allegra might do to her.
“If I agree to what you want...would you let her go?”I asked Allegra.
“No.” She snapped.
Dante moved closer to her and whispered something to her ear.
She shut her eyes, anger radiating off her in waves.
“Fin...fine.” She choked out. “But you’re coming with us right now.”
She didn’t seem to have fully agreed to not hurting my mother.
And I can only hope I would be able to convince her by accepting my fate.
I have no idea how I’m going to pretend to be someone else.
Enzo seemed to be someone so important and I am merely a fisherman who didn’t graduate from high school.
What are they even thinking?
RAPHAEL “This is your brother’s house.”Dante announced as the car we were in rode passed two huge gates. My mouth fell open as I stared out through the window. Never in my life did I think I would see a mansion like this. We got down from the car and I looked around in awe. “I’ll give you a brief tour around the house.” Dante offered. I nodded and followed him. We came by the parking lot, I mentally started counting the cars. “I guess other people like keeping their cars here, right?” . “Other people? How?” “Maybe his friends, neighbors...” Dante shook his head. “All the cars in here are all his.” I gasped. “Why?” He looked genuinely confused. “I mean, they’re too much...what does he need them for?” Dante shrugged and walked away. My eyes ran over the cars again. They looked so exotic. I hurried up to him as he showed me the pool area. It would be so nice to take a swim here. We walked into the main house together and I tried not to be floored by how amazing everywhere was. I stared at the walls, the huge chandelier, the furniture. How do people live in this kind of places? I followed Dante upstairs, running my hands through the wall. I can’t even hide how amazed I am. “This is his bedroom, your bedroom for the meantime.” Dante informed me. I walked in and grinned. It was equally luxurious but I didn’t like the background of everything being black, the walls, the mattress, the duvet. Don’t get me wrong, I do not despise that colour but I don’t like it being too extreme. But then I kept quiet. It’s not my bedroom, I have no say in anything. I stared at a huge portrait of him on the wall. Lorenzo. How would he feel about this when he gets back? He looks so, I don’t know the right word to use...em...magnificent perhaps. Like a god. “The first thing we need to do is get you a haircut...just like his.” Dante’s voice snapped me back to reality and I nodded. He called over a barber and gave him a picture of Enzo. When he was done with the hairs on my head and styling my beards the way Enzo does his, I could barely recognize myself. “Aren’t you tired of staring at the mirror?” I glanced at Dante and smiled. “I’m just impressed by my looks...” He laughed. “It’s a long day...I’ll have someone bring dinner up to you. And then you can get some sleep, we have a busy day tomorrow.” I nodded in comprehension and watched him leave the room. I slowly sat on the bed, reeling on how soft it was. A woman brought dinner to me and left.

A woman brought dinner to me and left.
I picked up the cutlery, hungrily and started to eat.
My mother’s face flashed through my head.
She hadn’t wanted me to leave earlier.
I shook my head, she doesn’t have a say in my life anymore.
I continued eating and wondered if she had eaten.
I reached for a new cellphone that Dante had given to me in the car.
I knew her phone number offhandedly.
So I typed it up on the phone and paused as I stared at it.
I shouldn’t give her a call.
She isn’t related to me in any way.
She’s the reason why I’m in this situation right now.
I dropped my cellphone and stared at the meal, ruefully.
“Now, we have to make you as muscular as Enzo, you have to work out regularly.” Dante said to me at the gym downstairs the following morning. I do not like working out. Too stressful. “I feel like working out as well, so let’s go.” He urged and lifted up the weights. I always thought those things were heavy but with the way he was lifting it and bringing it downwards. I guess they’re not. I bent in front of one of the weight and tried lifting it, but it was heavy, too heavy. How the hell was he doing this? “Is there any weight lighter than this?” I asked. He brought down the equipment he was holding and pointed at one. I walked over to the lighter one but it was still heavy. I could literally hear the cracks in my bones as I lifted it up. “Why are you being lazy? Aren’t you feeling well?” Dante asked. “I’m okay but the weight aren’t. Why should they be made so heavy? Did they forget that humans are the ones who would be lifting it?” He frowned. “Why are you getting annoyed? This is something you should be used to. Don’t tell me you don’t work out...” “I don’t. Why would I do something so stressful?” “Keeping fit is important, Raphael. And your brother is an heavily built man.” “How is that my fault?” Dante shut his eyes, briefly. “Maybe you should get yourself warmed up first, get on the treadmill.” He suggested and walked over to the device. I climbed on it and he pressed a button. I suddenly moved and before I could hold onto something...I slid straight out of it and landed on the floor. Dante burst into laughter. I slowly sat up. God! “You were supposed to move.” “You were supposed to tell me to move.” I snapped. “How can you not know anything about working out? How do you even keep fit? Do you sit at home all day?” “Of course not. I’m a fisherman, remember...” “Fishing is the only thing you do?” “Sometimes, I help my mother at the market, I hang out with my friends and go jogging with them, I also watch movies, I do...” “Do you even know any manly stuff?” I frowned. “You didn’t find any of that manly?” “Oh boy! That will be enough working out for now, let’s head to the study...I have a few questions to ask you.” I sighed. This is going to be so hectic.
I ran my fingers through the books on the shelves in the library. They were all about business, business and business.

Boring stuff.
I turned to face Dante who was sitting on the swivel chair and preparing his questions.
“What was your major in college?”
“I didn’t go to college.”
“What?!”
“I didn’t even finish high school.”
“Why?”
I frowned wondering why he was getting worked up.
“It was taking up too much money and I wasn’t really interested in schooling.”
“Ahh!” He facepalmed himself. “Enzo schooled in Harvard...I know you definitely have no chance in going there but I thought being twins would mean he would pass down his aura and intelligence to you, how the fuck are you going to pull this off? You will have to attend meetings in his stead and...and...fuck!”
“About the twins part, I don’t think it actually works that way...”
“This will be a lot more harder than I thought.” He let out.
