Chapter 50: Illyath’s Items "Uhm . . . where can I find these items, exactly?" Xin inquired, as he, too, was interested. Rare items often meant greater profits when auctioned.
"You can find them mostly in the Luckernaught Coast, and sometimes you can acquire them through rewards for quests from the townsfolk in Seagulls Nest," Illyath answered, offering valuable information to aid him in his quest for such artifacts.
Xin couldn’t help but feel curious. He had already completed most of the quests available in town, but perhaps the quests Illyath was referring to were the ones that became accessible after he accepted her quest.
He knew of chain quests, and he guessed that this was one of those.
As he contemplated this, a prompt appeared on Xin’s face.
Xin decided to accept the quest offered by Illyath. He realized that he hadn’t explored the Luckernaught Coast yet, where the Reef Raiders were said to reside.
It seemed like there was no island safe from his NPC domination.
"Thank you," Illyath’s smile softened with gratitude.
The quest description then appeared in front of Xin.

Illyath, a fallen angel, found herself in Seagull’s Nest decades ago, driven by an unwavering desire to uncover the whereabouts of the titan summoned by the Baskan court mage.
She firmly believed that discovering the titan’s location would be the key to regaining her celestial wings and breaking free from her eternal banishment.
As she delved into her research, fate led her to the treasure from the sunken fleet, mysteriously washing ashore in Luckernaught. The artifacts fascinated her, holding the potential to unveil the secrets of the ancient battle.
With time, her affection for the region grew, and she decided to establish a quaint store on a small islet.
There, she traded various items found along the coast –– from pretty seashells to enchanting, rust-free swords.
𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮 Illyath’s actions proved to be a catalyst for the economic prosperity of Seagull’s Nest, especially after Glesga’s successful unification of the villages.
The Floating Market blossomed under her watchful eye and inspired other merchants to join the bustling trade.
Thus, the Floating Market flourished as a central hub, where adventurers sought her magical aid and wise guidance and where treasures from the sunken fleet found new life in the hands of skilled and ambitious players.

As Xin read through Illyath’s quest, a peculiar option materialized before him, seemingly guided by his heightened WIS, now surpassing twenty.
WIS might appear useless at first, but it apparently offered him a chance to inquire about the island’s levitation and provide future options that would led to truths.
Curiosity sparked in Xin as he read the option before him, "Are you the reason why the island is levitating?"
Caught off guard, surprise momentarily flickered across Illyath’s face before she swiftly masked it with a composed smile. "Those are merely baseless rumors," she replied calmly.
With a notification, Xin’s [Library] updated, and he discovered that more information had been added to Illyath’s page.
[Despite her best efforts to quash the spreading rumor, many locals firmly believe that the islet’s levitation is a direct result of Illyath’s presence in the Floating Market.
Nonetheless, she remains tight-lipped about her origins and often passes off as a human and half-elf to maintain her mystique.]
"Haaa . . ." Xin refrained from delving further into the topic as Illyath responded with an awkward giggle.
"Anyway . . . I’m saddened by the conflict between the Reef Raiders and Seagull’s Nest," she said, changing the subject.
There was a faint blush on her face as she continued, "Wind Whisperer, the leader of the Reef Raiders, was the first person I met when I fell from the skies and into the Luckernaught Sea after I lost my wings as punishment for interfering in the Material Plane.
"He was fishing near the corals when he saw the shooting star that preceded my fall and didn’t think twice before diving to save me."
Illyath spoke with a softness and emotion that made Xin realize why she hadn’t been offering marriage like the other single female NPCs he encountered.
"You’re in love with him. This Wind Whisperer guy," Xin remarked.
Illyath’s eyes widened, and her face flushed red. "W-wha . . . I . . . I don’t . . ."
She was non-marriageable NPC from the looks of it. Xin could already hear many heartbreaks coming from the players.
Illyath appeared flustered, glancing around nervously as her voice grew meek. "The truth is . . . I’m avoiding him. I worry about becoming a mortal if I allow myself to fall in love with him."
Xin noticed that her page in his [Library] was updated once again, but he chose not to read it this time. He respected her privacy, understanding that her love life was a personal matter he shouldn’t intrude upon.
Not that he was interested.
"Anyway . . ." Illyath cleared her throat, regaining her composure, and her amiable mask returned. "Do you want to buy anything before you set off?"
Nodding, Xin looked at the items she had for sale. Most of them focused on mending, protecting, and healing, which piqued his interest.
