Chapter 147: Chapter 147: Raina Kills Adrian Grant Adrian Grant knew that Raina Lowell couldn’t possibly harm him.

Even if she didn’t hold him dear to her heart, he was at least Evelyn’s father.

How could she bear to let Evelyn lose her biological father?

So he puffed out his chest and approached Raina, betting that she wouldn’t truly thrust the knife at him.

The moment the knife landed in her palm, Raina Lowell instinctively grasped the handle, staring at the man who was so close, she was dazed and unconsciously stepped back.

"Adrian Grant, don’t push me, give Evelyn back to me."

Adrian Grant’s eyes were sharp, coldly piercing her, "I said, if you want your son, you have to divorce Alaric Jennings."

"Without my consent, who allowed you to find a stepfather for Evelyn? You’ll divorce him tomorrow, won’t you?"

His tone softened again.

He sincerely hoped this woman could think more of the moments they shared together.

Hadn’t they had good times back then too?

Why had she decided to marry someone else in such a short time?

He couldn’t accept his beloved woman becoming another man’s wife. This marriage needed to end.

"I won’t divorce."

Raina Lowell maintained her stance, faintly hearing her son’s voice from upstairs.

She pushed past him, wanting to go upstairs to find her son.

Adrian Grant blocked her, "I won’t let you take Evelyn away."

Raina Lowell couldn’t leave, couldn’t see her son.

And in her palm, she still clutched that dagger, glaring viciously at Adrian Grant.

"Move."

"I told you, go and divorce Alaric Jennings."

Adrian Grant clenched his teeth, his face twisted, clearly running out of patience.

Raina Lowell also lost her patience, raising the dagger in her hand.

"Move, or I’ll be harsh with you."

Adrian Grant knew she didn’t dare, deliberately pressing towards the knife’s tip, "Kill me, and you can take Evelyn away."

If Raina couldn’t divorce Alaric Jennings, living would only be like a walking corpse, better off dead.

Being dead would mean he could visit his daughter there.

Being dead would mean his heart wouldn’t be so pained.

Otherwise, living while watching his woman, with his child, embracing another man was more painful than death.

"Adrian Grant, you forced me, I just want my son. Since you want to die so badly, I’ll fulfill your wish."

His son’s cries from upstairs continued to echo.

Raina Lowell couldn’t bear it any longer, clutching the dagger with both hands, hardening her heart, and fiercely stabbing Adrian Grant’s chest.

With a sound, the whole world turned silent.

The sharp dagger brutally pierced into Adrian Grant’s flesh, and in just a blink, blood gushed like a fountain.

Pain at that moment swept through every nerve of Adrian Grant.

His gaze, bloodshot, stared at Raina, his breathing gradually becoming rapid and difficult.

Raina Lowell too looked at him.

Her eyes filled with terror and helplessness.

"We could have parted ways amicably, why won’t you let me go? Do you know how much I hate you? I truly wish you were dead."

Afraid that one stab wasn’t fatal enough.

She withdrew the dagger and stabbed his abdomen again.

"You want to die so badly, I’ll let you die. You can go accompany your daughter; after all, she likes you so much, with you there, she shouldn’t feel lonely!"

When she stabbed the abdomen, blood flowed along the blade, soaking both her hands.

It was clear that Raina Lowell was also terrified.

Her entire body trembled uncontrollably.

But without taking this man’s life, he wouldn’t return her son to her.

Her son was her only one, even if it meant exchanging a life for a life, she would seize her son back.

"Raina..."

Adrian Grant endured the pain in his chest and abdomen, calling weakly, his whole body tottering as if he would collapse at any moment.

He always thought, Raina wouldn’t harm him.

After all, they had once been married.

She had also stayed with The Grant Family for five years.

Even if there was no affection, there should be gratitude, right?

But.

He seemed to be wrong.

Looking down at Raina still holding the dagger, stabbing into his abdomen, blood continuously gushing out, she seemed not to have softened even a bit, her small face icy cold, truly hoping him dead.

Why had it come to this?

Why had Raina turned to hate him so much?

Adrian Grant couldn’t stand any longer, his vision blurred, his body swayed and collapsed to the ground.

Raina Lowell stepped back in fright, but still held the bloody dagger in both hands, freezing there watching Adrian Grant fall, truly panicked.

She had truly killed Adrian Grant.

She had killed someone.

Raina Lowell suddenly felt her mind go blank.

Just then, Evelyn ran down from upstairs.

Running and calling out, "Mommy, Mommy..."

Raina Lowell snapped back to reality, instinctively dropping the dagger in her hand, rushing over with bloody hands, embracing her son tightly.

"Evelyn, are you alright?"

"Mommy, let’s go, I don’t want to stay here, they’re all big bad guys."

Little Evelyn cried, pulling her mommy towards the door.

Raina Lowell hurriedly followed.

Yet couldn’t resist looking back at Adrian Grant lying in the pool of blood.

For some reason, watching Adrian Grant truly dying, her heart was pained.

A few seconds of hesitation allowed Mrs. Grant and several servants to rush down.

"Adrian, Adrian, what’s happened to you?"

Mrs. Grant couldn’t attend to little Evelyn; seeing her son lying in the pool of blood in the living room, covered in blood.

She was terrified, rushing over in a panic.

Raina Lowell knew she couldn’t escape; murder demanded a life in return.

She hurriedly took her son and left the room.

Passing by Caleb Landon and the group of bodyguards outside the door.

Everyone saw her hands covered in blood and dared not approach.

Caleb also returned to the villa to see what had happened.

Raina Lowell took her son to the door, handed him over to her father, and choked out a reminder:

"Dad, take Evelyn away, watch over him in the future, don’t let anyone take him again."

"Mom."

Evelyn realized something and was unwilling to leave.

Mr. Everett looked at the blood on his daughter and, distressed, quickly grabbed her, asking:

"What happened? Raina, where are you hurt?"

Ethan Everett was also astonished, not expecting his sister to actually bring Evelyn out.

But where did all the blood on her come from?

Raina Lowell explained, "I killed Adrian Grant. They definitely won’t let me go; help me take Evelyn away, hurry!"

If they didn’t leave soon, it would be too late.

Mrs. Grant would absolutely come after her to avenge Adrian Grant.

She wouldn’t run.

After all, she just wanted that man dead.

Poor Evelyn though.

He wouldn’t even have a mother in the future.

Raina Lowell crouched down, hugged her son, and couldn’t help but shed tears.

"What?"

Mr. Everett was shocked but also worried about his daughter. He grabbed his young grandson with one hand and pulled his daughter with the other.

"Come with us."

Ethan quickly opened the car door.

But before Raina Lowell could get in the car with them, Caleb Landon sent someone rushing over.

"Stop her."

The bodyguards understood and immediately stepped forward to prevent Raina Lowell from getting into the car.

The Everett family bodyguards, Mr. Everett, and Ethan quickly shielded Raina Lowell behind them, the two sides in a tense standoff.

Caleb Landon came over and said:

"President Everett, Alaric, Miss Lowell stabbed our president, and he’s already unconscious. My wife has instructed me to take her to the police station. I hope you won’t interfere, or I won’t hesitate to use force."

It was obvious that the Grant Family had more bodyguards.

If a fight broke out, the Everett side wouldn’t stand a chance.

"If Adrian Grant hadn’t kidnapped my grandson, would my daughter have hurt him?"

Mr. Everett held his daughter’s hand tightly, unwilling to let go.

At his age, he was no less imposing than a younger man.

Caleb Landon said: "The child is also our president’s. It’s only natural for a father to take his son for a few days. You’d better not waste your efforts. If Miss Lowell doesn’t stay now, the police will come to arrest her later. Why make it difficult?"

He hadn’t expected Miss Lowell to be so ruthless.

She stabbed the president in the chest and then in the abdomen.

Such large wounds, with blood flowing freely.

Whether he could survive was uncertain.

"Caleb, even if there’s a criminal responsibility to bear, it should be the police taking the person away. Who are you to capture her?"

Ethan gestured for Raina to get in the car, "As long as I’m here today, don’t even think about detaining her."

Caleb Landon thought it unwise to clash head-on with the Everett Family.

Especially since the president was so fond of Miss Lowell.

If he hadn’t allowed Miss Lowell to hurt him, how could such a physically strong man like him, standing at 189 cm, let someone as delicate as Miss Lowell injure him?

Thinking he didn’t need to listen to Mrs. Grant, he quickly signaled Ethan.

"Then hurry up and take her away, don’t block the way for the ambulance."

Ethan understood, picked up Evelyn, and got in the car.

The Everetts quickly left with Raina Lowell and her child, disappearing from the Grant Family’s old residence gate.

Soon after, Elias Sheridan arrived. The Grant Family’s old residence had its medical office and didn’t need hospital transport. Elias Sheridan immediately performed emergency surgery on Adrian Grant.

Mrs. Grant sent her son into the operating room and saw Caleb Landon coming over without Raina Lowell in sight.

She questioned, "Didn’t I tell you to detain Raina Lowell? Did you let her go?"

Caleb Landon lowered his head and said, "There were too many people from the Everett Family. I was afraid they’d escalate the situation, making it hard to handle, so I let Miss Lowell go with them for now."

"You useless fool, who told you to make decisions on your own?"

Mrs. Grant, enraged, immediately instructed the butler nearby to call the police.

Raina Lowell must be sent to prison.

Her son was the Grant Family’s only hope.

If he died, she would surely ensure that Raina Lowell accompanied him in death.

On the way back to the Everett Family.

Raina Lowell held her son in her arms, trembling uncontrollably.

The image of Adrian Grant, covered in blood, kept flashing through her mind.

She truly wished for that man to die.

But after actually hurting him, she was now afraid.

She didn’t even know what she was afraid of.

"Raina, don’t worry. Even if it costs me my life, I’ll keep you safe."

Mr. Everett raised a hand to protect his daughter, trying to provide her with enough security.

Ethan asked, "Did you injure Adrian Grant severely? Will he die?"

Raina Lowell lowered her head and shook it, her eyes veiled in mist.

"I don’t know, but he bled a lot. He should die!"

She had injured his chest and likely damaged his kidneys too!

Plus, with bleeding that much, even with Elias Sheridan present, he probably couldn’t be saved.

Raina Lowell hugged her son tightly and, choking back sobs, told him:

"Evelyn, if Mommy isn’t around in the future, you have to listen to Grandpa and Grandma. Grow up happy and healthy, okay?"
