Chapter 190: _Train Hard Elian’s POV
"Okay, panic mode." He let out the heaviest breath he could muster when he stepped into his room, closing his door behind him. "What the heck do I do?" [Do about what?] Elian rubbed his right hand on his face as he walked deeper into the dimly lit space, his eyes flickering through the polished black marble floor and the red crystals embedded on the walls. "Axel just told me he loves me." Elian blurted, his fingers shaking. "And I couldn’t even say it back." The system was so silent that Elian almost thought he could hear crickets around him. But eventually— [I’m trying hard to see the problem here.] Fucking... "I couldn’t say it back because I don’t even know what I feel for Axel. Or the rest." Elian rubbed the bridge of his nose with a sigh. "I mean, I feel safe with Kyren and like I can be my true self around him... Weird system and all." [Check.]

Elian rubbed the bridge of his nose with a sigh. "I mean, I feel safe with Kyren and like I can be my true self around him... Weird system and all." [Check.]
Elian went on, stopping in front of the foot of his bed. "Since the Umbra Beast incident and Lucian’s confession then, I’ve... Felt less hate toward him. He still acts like a jerk but he did go out of his way to save me more than once."
[Bare minimum. Damn, the bar must be all the way in Hades, huh?]
Elian clicked his tongue but didn’t let the system’s words deter him, sitting at the edge of the bed and fiddling with his fingers silently.
His mind settled on Axel, going through all the experiences with the Beta.
He was the first to knot with him.
[Wow... and you say I’m the one turning you into a slut. That’s the first thing you could think of?]
Elian’s face flushed but his mind went on.
Axel was the only one he had ever had a crush on before the mate bond. He was also the first to accept him as his mate.
[Technically, Kyren accepted you before he even met you. So you should give Daddy Death credits for that instead.]
This was getting nowhere...
"My point is, I don’t know what I’m doing with these men at this point. I’m only eighteen! And one is offering to burn the world for me, the other is threatening marriage and Axel..." His throat constricted, forcing him to swallow hard. "Axel is just Axel. Forever supportive."
He placed both hands on his head, feeling like his brain was going to explode any second. No amount of alcohol would distract him from any of this.
Why was he beginning to feel like the moon goddess had cheated him when she gave him three mates?
[When you’re done with your midlife crisis... Would you like to see Axel’s stats after his little confession?]
Elian’s eyes lit up as the system projected a blue translucent screen in front of his face.
. [Beta Axel (mate #2).
Possessiveness meter: 100%. Seduction meter:100%.]
Elian’s lips parted in shock but the best part was yet to come.
[Congratulations! Daddy Axel is the second mate to have both meters at 100% after Kyren. As a result, you have now unlocked bond resonance with him.]
[Beta Axel’s Bond resonance skills: Ten per cent of his physical abilities, including strength, speed, durability and reflexes when he’s within 200 feet of you.]
[Also, access to his unique golden alpha class aura, giving you powers like energy manipulation, physical augmentation, construct creation and a variety of other things depending on your versatility.]
Elian’s lips curled into a wide grin. He was so excited that he got to his feet, blinking at the screen.
"With this plus my bond Resonance with Kyren... I’ll be so overpowered." He blurted without thinking much about it.
Alas, the system had to come quickly with a reality check.
[Hehe... People just easily throw the word "overpowered" these days, huh?]
Elian frowned as the translucent screen disappeared and the system went on.
[I said you only get 10 % of each mate’s abilities. And that’s ONLY if they’re within 200 feet of you. At best, if all these factors are taken into account and Axel and Kyren happen to be close to you... You’d be just above a soldier-class wolf at best.]
Crap...
[Not to mention you still haven’t tried practising how to utilise Kyren’s magic. Add that to Axel’s skills and—]
"I get it, buzz kill!" Elian snapped, rolling his eyes.
But then his fists curled with determination. "I’m not giving up. If I want to stand with my mates without falling behind, I need to work hard in utilising all my current skills."
[Totally agree with that. This is the perfect time, in fact. With Lucian in a coma, Axel going to Arcadia and Kyren busy with... Rogue king duties.]
Mm-hm.
Elian stood tall, squaring his shoulders as if saying it aloud had cemented something inside him.
"I’ll train. Hard. And next time danger comes, I won’t just be the one they’re protecting."
[Big words, fruitcake. Now let’s see if your tiny stamina can back them up.]
He rolled his eyes, about to retort when a faint flicker of movement drew his attention to the far corner of the room.
His breath caught.
One of the red crystals embedded in the wall was pulsing faintly. Not steady like usual—this was erratic, quick, like a heartbeat on the verge of panic.
"What the hell...?"
[Huh. That’s... new.]
Elian crept closer, each step slow, wary.
The glow intensified as though responding to his presence. And then, in the shimmer of the crystal’s surface, a distorted reflection appeared—his own face first, then something else.
A pair of golden eyes.
His heart skipped a beat, confusion spreading through him as he tilted his head slowly.
The golden eyes were sharp, glowing like twin suns. And the scariest part? They were locked on him.
"Hello?" He called, stepping back as his pulse quickened.
[How quaint... Telling the scary pair of eyes "hello". What next? Throw them a party?]
Suddenly, the eyes blinked out of existence and the red crystal began shining normally again.
Elian stood there, confused and a bit disoriented.
What or who the heck was that?
