Chapter 155: Lively Distractions "What?"

Victor couldn’t help but chuckle softly, amused by Xiaxia’s reaction. It felt like looking at Xin with a lot of emotion on his face –– it was indeed a refreshing sight after dealing with Xin, who only portrayed one lethargic expression most of the time.

"My apologies. I just couldn’t help but notice that you and Xin truly resemble each other. The resemblance is quite striking," he said with a laugh.

Victor reached out and gently tucked a strand of Xiaxia’s golden hair behind her ear. "If you let your natural hair shine through, you two would look even more alike."

Xiaxia and the girls were stunned and couldn’t react to Victor’s sudden gesture. It was a simple move, but its impact on Xiaxia and her friends was profound.

Xiaxia’s face turned an immediate shade of crimson, her heart racing as her fingers brushed against her hot cheeks.

Her voice caught in her throat, and she stammered, "I, uh . . ."

Marry covered her nose with her fingers, fearing a nosebleed from the sheer intensity of the moment. Her eyes widened, and she whispered in an exaggerated tone to Scarlet, "Scarlet, I think I’m going to faint!"

Victor exuded an undeniable allure, his magnetic charm drawing everyone’s attention. What made it even more endearing was the fact that he appeared blissfully unaware of his own sexiness, adding an extra layer of irresistible charm to his persona.

Scarlet, on the other hand, decided to seize the moment and show off her own unique charm. With a sly smile, she leaned closer to Victor, allowing her fiery red hair to cascade over her shoulders like a waterfall of flames.

She tilted her head seductively and said, "You know, Victor, my hair is pretty unique too. It’s red and sexy. Do you want to touch it?"

Victor was oblivious to the effect he was having on the girls and looked genuinely surprised by Scarlet’s bold offer.

His gray eyes widened slightly, and he chuckled, finding her playful demeanor charming. "It is beautiful. The color suits you just fine."

Victor extended his hand with a gentle touch, running his fingers through Scarlet’s fiery red hair. The girls exchanged glances, their expressions filled with a mixture of disbelief and excitement.

Scarlet, however, couldn’t contain her reaction. She gasped dramatically, her breaths quickening as Victor’s fingers traced through the vibrant strands of her hair. It was as if she’d won the lottery, and her exhilaration was palpable.

The penthouse crackled with newfound energy, and Xin, who had been busy in the kitchen, couldn’t resist the curiosity of what was happening in the living area. He approached, unfazed by the scene he found.

"Please don’t harass my friend," Xin spoke up, setting a tray of food on the table as he intervened.

Scarlet paid no heed to Xin’s protest. She practically dragged him over and plopped him down beside Victor.

Her enthusiasm was contagious as she exclaimed, "You’re so lucky, Xiaxia! You have a handsome brother and his incredibly good-looking friend!"

Xiaxia was still trying to regain her composure after Victor’s touch, absently smoothing the strand of hair he had traced.

Tristan had nothing on Victor. The man couldn’t compare, not even to a single strand of Victor’s hair.

Scarlet whipped out her phone, her excitement evident as she begged, "Can I please get a photo of you two together?"

Victor and Xin exchanged a glance, momentarily unsure about Scarlet’s request.

Scarlet added a playful touch, pressing her hands together in a pleading gesture. "Pretty please! It’ll help me sleep better at night and have sweet dreams."

Xin felt a bit uneasy. What would she do with their photos?

. Before he could voice his concerns, Victor placed a hand on his shoulder in a friendly gesture and grinned at the photo.

"Pass me the photo afterward," Victor said with a smile.

Scarlet’s face lit up with delight as she snapped the picture with enthusiasm.

Xiaxia chimed in, and complained that it wasn’t fair for Scarlet to hoard all of Victor’s pictures and joined in by taking photos with her own phone.

Marry was more reserved, but couldn’t hide her desire to capture the moment as well. Her longing for a picture was evident in her expression, even if she didn’t vocalize it. Though she remained at her sit.

As the day unfolded, what had initially started as a plan to help Xiaxia and Xin catch up on their missed lectures took a delightful detour.

Instead of diving into their textbooks, the group found themselves engrossed in conversation, laughter, and a sumptuous feast of takeout and home cook food.

The penthouse echoed with their animated voices, creating a lively and warm atmosphere that seemed to transcend the outside world’s troubles.

Between bites of delicious food, Victor asked, "Xin, are you planning to log into the game later?"

Xin paused, mid-chew, and wiped his mouth with a napkin. His determination to earn in the game had grown stronger after recent events. He couldn’t afford to miss even a single night of playing. "Yes. I still have my headgear with me."

Victor gave a nod. "Alright then. We’ll see you later at the same place and time."

Xiaxia’s eyes widened in surprise. "Oh? You two are teaming up in the game?"

Scarlet couldn’t resist chiming in, her voice filled with playful jealousy. "That’s not fair! I want to join you two as well."

Victor chuckled and explained, "I’m afraid our group is already at full capacity, ladies. Perhaps we can arrange it for another time?"

Xin remained quiet at the side. He wondered if they knew that Victor was Grey Smoke? A top player.

As the day rolled on, the hours slipped away, and the sun began its descent towards the horizon. The group’s carefree banter and feasting continued until it was well into the evening.

Victor and the girls eventually realized that it was time for them to leave.

With warm goodbyes, they gathered their belongings and made their way to the door.

Scarlet couldn’t resist a playful remark before departing. "Xiaxia, Xin, you have such an amazing place here. And Victor is quite a catch . . . as a friend." She chuckled.

Victor only stifled a laugh at her words and waved at the twins. "We’ll catch up in the game later, Xin."

Once they had left, Xiaxia and Xin exchanged glances, a realization dawning on them.

It was only then that they remembered their initial plan to catch up on the missed lessons.
