Chapter 154: Victor’s Charm Once Evelyn left the room, Xiaxia’s friends began discussing recent events and gossip from school, filling Xiaxia in on everything she had missed during her absence.

It felt like Xiaxia hadn’t just been absent for one day, but a week from how they chatted recent events.

Their laughter and chatter filled the room, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in the penthouse.

The girls shared laughter, and Xiaxia couldn’t help but feel a wave of relief wash over her. Having her friends by her side during these recent hardships was like a ray of sunshine in the midst of a storm.

"Believe me, I’m just as surprised as you are," Xiaxia replied, still chuckling. "But hey, we’ll make the most of it while we’re here."

The trio of friends continued their lively conversation, relishing the comfort and warmth of each other’s company.

Meanwhile, Xin was feeling somewhat detached from their conversation, and decided to stay near the foyer, anticipating Victor’s arrival.

As the doorbell rang once more, Xin checked through the peephole and then swung the door open to find Victor standing in the hallway, bags of food in hand.

"Sorry for the delay," Victor said, his face breaking into a smile. "I ordered quite a bit of takeout, and it took a while to prepare."

"You shouldn’t have bothered," Xin said and took the bags from Victor’s hands.

Victor didn’t mind Xin’s lack of enthusiasm and said instead, "I’m glad that you’re safe and sound. How are you holding up?"

"Better. I live in a penthouse now," Xin japed and guided Victor inside.

"I can see that." Victor roamed his eyes all around and couldn’t help but whistled. "Man. This place is awesome. Glad that you’re staying here and not in some kind of shelter."

"Only temporary. Come on, I’ll introduced to my mom and sister and her friends."

Victor skidded to a stop. "Friends?"

Xin turned over his shoulder and said, "Yeah. They stop by as well, don’t worry, they don’t bite." At least he hope not.

"Hey, girls. Meet Victor," Xin introduced when they arrived in the living area.

"Hi." Victor waved his hand and smiled.

Xiaxia and her friends suddenly fell silent, their lively chatter coming to an abrupt halt as they beheld Victor in person. They had glimpsed him at school from afar, but this was their first up-close encounter with him.

Victor was typically known for his reserved and aloof demeanor, and had earned quite the reputation. It wasn’t just a rumor that he had turned down advances from more than a hundred girls throughout his life.

Victor was tall and lean with striking gray hair and ashen eyes, and he looked like he had just stepped off the pages of a fashion magazine.

His presence left the girls stunned, and they couldn’t help but blinked rapidly to see if Victor was really in front of them.

Xiaxia, Scarlet, and Marry exchanged astonished glances before Scarlet shot to her feet and said with great enthusiasm. "How lucky Xin is to have you as a friend. Come and sit with us, Victor."

Victor didn’t have much choice when Scarlet pulled him over to sit between them. He was in the center of the girls and they started to interrogate him.

The girls, despite their initial surprise, quickly warmed up to Victor’s friendly demeanor.

"Do you have a girlfriend?" Scarlet asked.

"Scarlet, that’s private," Marry reprimanded.

Scarlet only rolled her eyes. "This is a rare occasion where we can chat with him." she then sweetly smiled at Victor. "I hope you don’t mind me asking."

Victor seemed calm and composed amidst the ladies none ending questions like he was used to it. "I don’t mind at all, and I don’t have a girlfriend."

"Egh. Really?" Scarlet tucked a hair behind her ears and fluttered her eyelids. "But aren’t you like a famous model? You’ve been around pretty ladies and none of them catches your fancy?"

"Model?" Xin asked and stared at Victor with questioning gaze. This was the first time that he had heard of it.

Victor only shrugged. "Actually, I’ve done some modeling in the past. My sister owns a fashion company, and she asked for my help a few times. But I rarely do it; it’s more of a favor for her."

Scarlet interjected, wanting to set the record straight, "Don’t let him fool you, though. He’s one of the top models in his age group."

Victor waved it off, trying to downplay his achievements. "Well, it’s not something I pursue seriously. It’s just a side gig."

The girls found themselves in awe of Victor’s humility, charmed by his deep, soothing voice that seemed to caress them as he spoke.

The conversation flowed smoothly, with Victor sharing captivating stories from his modeling experiences while the girls eagerly fired off questions and listened intently.

"I’ll just be in the kitchen, helping mom with these food," Xin announced, bringing the bags into the kitchen, but Xiaxia and her friends ignored him. He knew when he was not needed and quickly made his exit.

"Ah, thank you, Xin," Victor acknowledged, but Xin already left.

When Xin was gone, Victor continued to engage with the girls, although it was clear that his attention was primarily directed toward Xiaxia.

Her golden hair, a vibrant hue that seemed to radiate warmth and vitality, was a striking contrast to her usual look. She had always been experimental with her hair, but this golden shade brought out a newfound vibrancy in her.

What truly drew Victor’s gaze were her eyes. Instead of her usual contact lenses that often altered their color, Xiaxia had chosen to go without them today. Her natural silver eyes shone through, much like her twin brother, Xin.

In that moment, it was evident to Victor that they were indeed twins. He could see the resemblance.

Unable to contain his observation, Victor blurted out, "You really are twins."

His words carried a sense of amazement as he couldn’t help but appreciate the unmistakable resemblance between Xiaxia and Xin, both in their eyes and their overall look.

Xiaxia blinked, her expression one of genuine confusion. "What?"
