Chapter 140: Chapter 140 Your fault RAPHAEL As Mona laughed, I was momentarily in awe at how beautiful she was when she laughed. It was like she had suddenly become a different person. The total opposite of her usual cold self. Suddenly, her laughter seized and the warm look in her eyes was replaced by a glare. “I’m getting down.” She announced. “Wait...” Before I could help her get down, she jumped off the horse carelessly and fell on the ground. I hurriedly got down. “Are you okay?” I asked stretching my hand to her so I could help her up. She pushed my hand away. “This is your fault!” “I didn’t push you off the horse.”I reminded. She stood up from the floor.
“Don’t you ever say I look like an angel or I’m pretty. I warned you before. I don’t like compliments!” “Noted.” Wasn’t she just blushing at my compliments a while ago? She was so annoying.
It was the fifth day of our boring honeymoon and I was seated on a rock chair at the garden of the resort. It was very late and quiet, Just what I need to stay calm and not put up with that temporary wife of mine. Hearing footsteps, I looked up and saw Mona walking into the garden. She clearly didn’t notice my presence, she turned on a classical music on her cellphone. Placing it on a bench. She slowly started moving to the beat of the song. Ballet. Wow. I was told she was a model. I didn’t know she was a ballerina too. I never thought I’ll watch her dance so gracefully. Bot, she was good. It was as if I was seeing another woman in front of me...lost in the song and passion for ballet dancing. It was incredible to watch. And when she finished. I didn’t know when I started clapping. She looked startled. “Are you stalking me now?” “Technically, I was here before you entered and entertained me.” She rolled her eyes. I grinned. “That was amazing. I thought you were only in the modeling field.” “I used to dance.” She replied. “Why did you stop?” “None of your business.” She snapped. I exhaled, not really wanting us to argue right now.
Was it so hard for us to get along? And I somehow wanted us to talk tonight. “What was that piece?” “Giselle” “I think I’ve heard a thing or two about that and also Swan Lake” “I’ve performed both Swan Lake and Giselle before but my favorite is Giselle.” There was a hint of excitement in her voice. “Could you tell me what this Giselle is about?” I asked, curiously. She didn’t waste time to start talking...in fact, she looked excited to. “Giselle is a young peasant girl who lives with her mother in a small village. One day, a stranger comes to their village and flirts with Giselle. This stranger, though dressed as a peasant, is actually of the upper classes, but, wanting to enjoy a last adventure before his engagement to an upper-class woman becomes a marriage, he has disguised himself to fit in among the peasants. Although Giselle is warned by her mother and others to not fall for Albrecht, she cannot resist his charms. She falls deeply in love with him, and when she finds out that he is an engaged man from the upper classes of society, she dies of shock.” “Wow.” I let out shocked as well. “The second act of the play is when it turns supernatural. In the graveyard where Giselle is buried, there is a group of female spirits called ’Wilis’; all of these females are the ghosts of women jaded by men during their lifetimes. Supposing that Giselle is going to join them because of her story, the Wilis attack Albrecht when he comes to visit Giselle. The Giselle ballet ends with her protecting him from the Wilis, ultimately refusing to join them, and being left in peace in her grave. The story of the Giselle Ballet is an interesting one and certainly has its high points. Like Swan Lake, Giselle has some darker moments and a story that will not be understood by all audience members. Before going to see the ballet, it’s certainly a good idea to familiarize yourself with the characters and storyline of the Giselle ballet.....” I watched her as she talked on and on...I found how fascinating as she spoke about something she seemed to have passion for. “The story is amazing”I said. She grinned. “I know.” I really wanted to ask why she quit ballet if she loved it so much but I knew she was going to snap at me so I didn’t ask. Instead, I said. “Could you dance more?” “Now?” “Yes” “In your presence” “Uh-uh.” “Why should I?” “Because you just did.” “That’s because I didn’t know you were watching me. And for the records, you ain’t supposed to.” With that ,she started walking away. “You forgot your cellphone.” I announced picking it up. She hurried back to me and snatched it. .
“Angry bird.” I teased. She eyed me and walked away. I hurried after her, pestering her to dance for me again. “C’mon, dance for me, huh.” I said as we got to our floor. I was stunned when she backed me against the wall. I swallowed. Men usually cornered ladies to walls and not the opposite. Was she going to like kiss me forcefully now? No. “The fact that you watched me danced and I told you about Giselle shouldn’t make you cross your boundaries. Don’t forget your place.” She warned and walked off, finally giving me some breathing space. I have never met any woman like this my whole life. My brother’s wife was really something.
