Chapter 112: Chapter 112 Far from being fine ALORA I haven’t seen Ellie in a while so seeing her right now was surprising. And why was Esme looking so sad? “What...what are you doing here, Ellie?” Caden asked. Was it just me or he sounded nervous. Ellie lowered her head. Esme stepped forward and announced. “Ellie is pregnant.” I frowned wondering why she was looking pissed as she said that. “She say you’re responsible.” And accused. I stared at Caden and then at Esme. What was Ellie up to this time? “That’s obviously a lie.” I pointed out.
“Is that a lie, Mr Ford? Did you sleep with my daughter?” I glanced at Caden expecting him to deny it, flatly but he was looking so nervous. “I...I...” My chest tightened. “Caden, you didn’t sleep with her. Why aren’t you denying it?” I saw tears filled his eyes as he shook his head. The tightening of my chest grew into pain. “Deny it, Caden. Deny it! You didn’t sleep with her. Why? Why aren’t you denying it?” “I...I can explain.” Tears welled up in my eyes. “Don’t explain. I just need you to tell me you didn’t sleep with her. Please, Caden, tell me you didn’t sleep with her.” “I am so sorry, Alora, I didn’t mean for this to happen.” Ellie let out, tearfully. “Oh shut up, you fucking bitch!” I barked. Esme stood in front of her daughter. “I know you’re upset, Alora and you have every right to be, but I think we should all calmly think of the way forward.” The way forward? I turned to face Caden. “My love, I swear, it wasn’t intentional...” I scoffed. “How can you unintentionally sleep with someone?!” I shoved him on the chest. “You promised me! You promised that I’d not regret getting together with you! You promised to always love me! You...” “I love you, Alora!” “You don’t cheat on someone you love!” “I didn’t mean to. Please give me a chance to explain...” “You have a chance, a choice to not sleep with her but what did you choose to me?!” I felt so pained, so hurt. I could literally feel my heart bleeding. How could he do this to me? I turned, hurrying out after the house. Caden ran after me, he grabbed hold of my hand, turning me to face him.
“I’m begging you, Alora. Please let me explain. It’s not what you think. I’d never deliberately cheat on you, I was...” “Don’t touch me!” I yelled, struggling with him. “Alora, please calm down, please, please, you know being stressed isn’t good for you and our baby.” I scoffed. “Our baby? Oh you’re so good at pretending? Pretending to love me! Pretending to want this baby! Pretending to what a future with me!” “It wasn’t pretense. None of it was. I didn’t mean for this to happen. Please hear me out.” I pushed him away from me. “I don’t want to see you right now. Do not follow me. Do not stop me! I don’t want to be anywhere near you! I shouldn’t have expected much from you. I feel foolish for thinking you’d ever change! You’re still the lying, manipulative asshole!” He faltered at my words. I turned, hurriedly rushed into the car and said to the driver. “Drive.” Caden pounded on the car window. “Please don’t leave. Please let me explain. I’m begging you. Please Alora, I will never intentionally hurt you...please...” “Drive!” I yelled at the driver. “If you don’t want to drive, then get out and let me drive myself.” I reached out to drag the steering wheel with him. “Calm down, ma’am. I’ll drive.” I sat back down, fuming and then he drove off. I am beyond devastated at the thought of another woman carrying my husband’s child and I started to cry. I wanted to control myself. I really wanted to control myself. I could cry all I wanted when I got to my mother’s place but no matter how hard I tried to stop the tears, they just kept flowing and then I just let myself cry. The driver stretched an handkerchief to me, wordlessly with his free hand. “Th...thank you.” I choked out, taking it from him. Still, that didn’t help. I cried all the way. It felt as if someone had let open a dam in my tear glands and the tears just wouldn’t stop flowing.
I sniffed as I knocked on the door. “Alora.” My mom gasped in surprise. I knew I looked a mess right now.
I just stared at her, my throat felt too hoarse to even speak. She opened her mouth to speak but then she just hugged me instead. I burst into tears. I didn’t know how to process this pain.
“What happened to you?” Joan asked after they had managed to get me to stop crying. My mom had called her to come over. We were seated side by side on the couch in the living room. That question spurred another round of tears. “Good going, Joan.”My mom growled. “She needs to tell us what happened to her. I mean, just a week ago, we were happily celebrating that she’s pregnant and now this.” Joan placed her in mine and squeezed, comfortingly. “What happened, Alora?” “Joan, I...he...I know I wasn’t...but I...and he said he...I was...” “Alora, calm down.” My mom cooed pulling me into her arms. “It’s okay if you don’t want to talk about it right now. It’s okay, honey. You’re home now. Everything will be fine.” Everything looks far from being fine.
