Chapter 55: Another Classmate After completing his advancement exam at Fate Academy, Xin’s stomach grumbled with hunger.
It was already past ten in the morning, and the thought of cooking back home felt like too much effort. He decided to seize the opportunity and head to the cafeteria for a quick lunch.
As Xin explored the Academy, he couldn’t help but be in awe of its grandeur and beauty. The buildings were designed with intricate architecture, giving off an air of elegance and sophistication.
The campus was bustling with students, each dressed in their own unique styles, showcasing their individuality.
When Xin finally arrived at the cafeteria, he was taken aback by its sheer magnificence.

The glass dome offered a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape, making it feel like he was dining amidst a lush tropical paradise.

Xin couldn’t help but feel a bit overwhelmed by the selection, but he was eager to try something new.
After taking his order, Xin chose a less crowded area at the back of the cafeteria to enjoy his meal. It wasn’t lunch break yet, so there were only a few people around. The quiet surroundings allowed him to savor his food in peace.
However, as he ate, he couldn’t help but notice some students looking in his direction and whispering among themselves. He felt a sudden unease, wondering if he had unintentionally done something to draw attention.
Then, it hit him. His encounter with Seraphina earlier must have sparked something . . . undesirable.
Xin inwardly groaned, knowing that his interactions with the heiress might have attracted unnecessary attention.
Trying to focus on his meal, Xin kept his head down and ate in silence, hoping to avoid any further scrutiny. But his efforts were in vain when he heard his name being called out.
Looking up, he saw Tyler, his former classmate, approaching with a friendly smile. Tyler was known for his bald head and cheerful demeanor.
"Whoa, it really is Xin!" Tyler exclaimed excitedly. "I thought Meilyn was just joking when she said you woke up!"
As Tyler mentioned Meilyn, Xin’s heart skipped a beat, and he felt a sudden unease in the atmosphere. Sensing the change, Tyler quickly shifted the topic to something more light-hearted.
Taking a seat in front of Xin, Tyler grinned and exclaimed, "I can’t believe you’re really here! But I’m glad to see you. Wait, let me take a picture of us and share it with the others."
Before Xin could react, Tyler had already snapped a picture with his phone. He was still the same old Tyler that Xin remembered –– big, tall, talkative, and always ready to do whatever he pleased with a smile on his face.
Tyler’s excitement and genuine interest in catching up with him were evident, so Xin didn’t stop him.
"I’m going to tell everybody that you’re really woken up. Now that I think of it, you should join our GC, so you can catch up with everyone. Come on, what’s your number."
Tyler was so excited and assertive that Xin could do nothing but give him his number.
"And . . . done. I have invited you and you should accept it."
Tyler was looking intently at Xin with his big bright eyes and an even bigger smile like he was waiting for him to accept the invitation on the spot.
"A lot of our classmates are in the GC. We even have plans to have a reunion this coming holiday break. You should really come and catch up with the others. Speaking of the others, some of our classmates are here."
When Tyler mentioned that some of their classmates were in the school, Xin braced himself for the potential encounters. He knew that seeing them after four years, especially after his coma and breakup with Meilyn, might be awkward and emotionally challenging.
"I’ll check it out when I get home," Xin only said.
Tyler’s eyes rounded like he realized how insensitive he was and said, "Oh, shit. Look at me yapping away. How have you been, man? It’s been such a long time. Are you planning to study here?"
"I’m not sure yet. It depends on my advancement exam," Xin replied, trying to keep his emotions in check.
Tyler laughed. "Glad that you still have that poker face of yours. But who are you kidding? You’re smart. You’ll definitely pass it."
"I’ll only be a first year, though."
Tyler reached out and tapped Xin’s shoulder. "It’s fine. It’s the first step. But boy, I’m glad to see you again. I even ditched class when I got the news that you’re here in the cafeteria! I want to make sure for myself."
Xin looked at Tyler; as much as he wanted to ask about him ditching his class, he had more pressing matters to question him. "How do you know that I’m here?"
Tyler chuckled and flashed his phone. "Xin, you’re already popular the moment you set foot here."
Xin stared at the screen of Tyler’s phone and saw a post from something like a Campus News. There, he saw a picture of himself eating in the cafeteria, and the caption mentioned that they found him, like he was lost or something.
Xin quickly realized that those students who took a picture of him were already circulating it all over the campus.
