Chapter 26: The moment of confession Part 2 Yuna’s POV
I guess you could say I’m your typical high school girl. Nothing particularly special about me.
Love experience? None. Honestly, I’ve never really been that interested in dating or anything like that. Not like the other girls who go on about crushes and whatnot. I mean, I find some boys interesting, but that’s about it.
Like Shiki Mizuno. He’s the student council secretary—cool, smart, and all that, but I can’t really say I like him. He’s the kind of guy every girl admires from a distance, but I’m not that type.
Then there’s Mishizaki Haruki. He’s not exactly the typical type of boy every girl would fawn over. He’s not tall, doesn’t have the best grades, and honestly, he’s kind of plain. But there’s something about him.
He’s kind. He’s not like those boys who can’t stop ogling themselves in those gross erotic mangas and magazines. Seriously, I saw that on one of the boys’ phones once. Disgusting.
Mishizaki is just... normal, I guess. Not in a boring way, though. He’s cute, and most importantly, he’s genuine. I’ve had a couple of chances to talk to him. Like that time when he dropped his wallet, and I picked it up.
It’s funny. That’s when I first talked to Shiori-sensei too. Poor Class B, I feel kind of bad for them. I mean, she’s pretty much a monster. Who forbids their students from dating? Right?
And then there’s the whole "don’t date or I’ll punish you" thing. She’s just jealous, I think. Only a masochist would want to date someone like her.
But that’s not the point. The point is, when Haruki and I bumped into each other online... that’s when everything started changing for me.
At first I didn’t thought that Harucchi and Haruki is the same though.
You see, I wasn’t really into gaming or anything like that. But then I started playing SFO.
And that’s when I met Harucchi.
The thing is, Harucchi is... well, cool. Like, really cool. He’s humble, despite his status online. He’s not one of those guys who gets all cocky because of his following. And even when fans bug him, he’s chill about it. Doesn’t get all mad or anything. That’s kind of rare, don’t you think?
Honestly, if you asked me before, I’d say love at first sight is just some fairytale nonsense. But now... now I can tell you it’s real. Because I fell for Haru, and I fell for him hard.
You know what? Maybe there’s truth to it. Love at first sight isn’t just some fantasy made up in movies. It’s real, and sometimes it hits you when you least expect it. I really didn’t expect it to be Haru, but here I am.
Haru’s POV
After the quick chat with Yuna, I went back to class. Lunchtime was almost over, and I didn’t want to get caught daydreaming.
I sat down at my desk, and there was Shino, already waiting for me. She looked up from her phone and smirked.
"Yo, Haru. What happened with Yuna? Are you seriously gonna have an affair behind Shiori-sensei’s back?"
"Ha, no way. We just talked, that’s all."
"Talked? About what?"
"Uh, I... I asked her to keep quiet about me being Harucchi. In exchange, she invited me to the rooftop after school."
"Haru, I don’t know. That sounds fishy."
"I know, I know."
Shino laughed, her usual teasing grin back. "Well, whatever. You know I’ve got your back. If things get weird, I’ll help you out. Just go to the rooftop, and I’ll stay in the shadows."
Her words were a little too suspicious, but honestly, I could use her help if things went sideways. So I agreed.

After four long, boring hours of classes, the bell finally rang, signaling the end of the day. I was relieved.
I grabbed my stuff and quickly went up to Shino. "I’m heading up now."
"Yeah, go ahead. I’ll be waiting," she said, waving me off. But there was something about her tone that made me pause. "And Haru... if it turns into a confession or something, you should have a reason ready to reject her."
I gave her a confused look. "What?"
Shino just waved it off. "Trust me. Just go. I’ll be watching your back."
A part of me felt uneasy, but I couldn’t ignore it. So I made my way to the rooftop, trying to stay hidden as best I could. The last thing I wanted was someone catching me sneaking around after hours.
As I got closer to the door, my heart was racing. What did Yuna want with me? Was she just going to ask for an autograph or something?
No, she wouldn’t do that, would she?
I took a deep breath and opened the door. And there she was. Yuna, sitting on the ledge with a calm smile on her face.
"Fuukawa-san, sorry to keep you waiting," I said, trying to sound casual.
She turned her head, eyes bright. "So, you really came. I was wondering if you would." She looked at me for a moment before standing up. "And please, call me by my first name. Yuna. Just Yuna."
I blinked, surprised by the sudden change in tone. Yuna was never this forward. "Uh, okay. Yuna-san then."
She suddenly fell silent, her eyes a little distant. It was an odd moment of tension between us. She had this way of making things feel heavier than they were.
I wasn’t sure what to say next.
Shiori’s POV
I sat in the faculty room, waiting for any sign of Haru. My mind kept racing. What if he thought I hated him after what happened yesterday? I really didn’t mean to ditch him, but I just needed time to think. He’d probably misunderstood me.
I sighed and rested my head against the desk, closing my eyes.
Just then, someone knocked on the door.
"Hello? Shiori-sensei?"
I recognized the voice immediately. It was Shino.
I opened the door, letting her in. "What’s up?"
She had this mischievous smile on her face. "Well, I’m here because, you know, Haru’s your boyfriend, right?"
My eyes widened. "Boyfriend?! What are you talking about?" I felt a strange rush of panic. "What do you mean?"
Shino just shrugged nonchalantly. "Oh, nothing much. Just thought I’d take your side."
"Take my side? For what?"
She leaned in closer, lowering her voice. "You want Haru for yourself, don’t you? Well, if you don’t want things to get out of hand, you better hurry to the rooftop. There’s something going on with him. He’s in danger."
My heart skipped a beat. "Danger? What are you talking about?"
I didn’t have time to question her further. I needed to go to Haru. Whatever was happening, I couldn’t let it get out of control.
